Jeff Taylor Scores Third Win of 2012 with Minnesota Triumph

Cave City, Arkansas (05/30/12) – Jeff Taylor traveled to the Great North last weekend for a handful of events over the Memorial Day weekend and came away with his third feature win of the 2012 season.

On Thursday evening Jeff opened a busy, Memorial Day weekend in a #128 Mark and Jamie Trautner Motorsports entry. The action was held at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minnesota), and a stacked field of 51 competitors crowded the pit area for the $1,500-to-win program. Heat race action found Jeff advancing from the tenth starting spot to a sixth place finish, which left him short of locking into the feature. As a result, he started fifth in a b-main, and had high hopes of advancing to a transfer spot. Unfortunately, mechanical woes would relegate him to a DNF, ending his night early. Friday night found Taylor following the Advantage RV Modified Tour to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) for the second, $1,500-to-win event of the weekend. Forty-seven competitors converged on the oval for the program, and for the second straight night Taylor found himself starting deep in a heat race grid. He would manage to pass two cars to finish sixth in the heat, which positioned him starting eleventh in a b-main. He advanced four spots to a seventh place finish in the b-main, but still fell short of earning a transfer spot to the main event. Full results are available at www.TheDirtTour.net.

Jeff Taylor piloted the #128 Trautner Motorsports Open Wheel Modified to his third win of the season on Sunday night with a triumph at Buffalo River Race Park (Glyndon, Minnesota). Seventeen competitors registered for battle, and after charging from eighth to second in his heat race, Jeff earned the seventh starting spot for the $2,000-to-win main event. In the feature he quickly worked his way to the front of the pack before going on to claim the dominating win over Dano Ostrander, Bryce Borgen, Blake Jegtvig, and Scott Bintz. "Even though we didn't get as many good finishes as I had hoped, I was still extremely happy to get a win for Mark and Jamie (Trautner). It was an honor to get to drive one of their cars. They have top-notch equipment, and I really enjoyed it," commented Taylor.

This weekend, June 1st-2nd, Jeff will travel to Louisiana in pursuit of a $10,000 payday as he enters the 6th Annual Doug Murphrey Memorial at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana). Many of the nation's top, Open Wheel Modified pilots are expected to converge on the 1/4 mile oval for this event. For more information on the race, please visit www.ArkLaTexSpeedway.com .
