IMO testing should banned, but there is no way to police it. The car owners and drivers complain about cost, then go somewhere on a Wednesday night and burn up fuel, 2 sets of tires, and put laps on the engine.

Counting the Dream, Prelims and last 2 Lucas races... one pass for the lead in 5 races and a total of $210,000 in first place money paid out.
Sprint cars are where its at right now! Late models are so boring!!!! Prove me wrong!

Current Late Model racing is boring and predictable....prove me wrong

If u go back further to the Show Me, the 49 led all the laps to a $50k victory....so 6 races and $260k in first place money!!
Folks thats 380 laps of racing over 3 tracks with the sports best racers!
The heat races are even worse than the mains most nights.

I have been a racing fan since I was born in 84 basically and I can say right now my interest is at an all time low. Its great that there are all these good paying events but the races completely suck. As you mentioned no passing for the lead, most races are won from the front row. They better figure it out or else people will be losing interest if they haven't already. I feel bad for people like Essex and Mirales who try to make these races sound exciting when they are anything but. I don't know what can be done but hopefully someone with more intelligence then myself can figure it out.

It could be fixed by rolling the body rules back to 2005 or so. Powers that be don’t want to do that tho. They’d rather keep selling shocks high dollar motors and lots of Hoosiers. The product is extremely stale now. Bullrings still can be good but the big tracks host most all the big events and those are just dull. Eldora has been bad for a few years but the sprint car races there are better than ever. It’s not a track issue. It’s the car.

As I said in previous post get rid of invert, signaling, Delaware restarts. The races get good til signaling happens then said driver goes where second place car is to block/ take line away

Here's the lead changes for the dream.
2020s we have averaged 3 lead changes per race.
2010s averages out to 3.2 lead changes per race.
2000 average out to 1.67 lead changes per race.
1990 average out to 2 lead changes per race.

My interest has absolutely tanked this year. Open wheel and even NASCAR is way more fun right now. WoO/High Limit/NASCAR races feel like EVENTS. I know NASCAR is a cuss word around here, but I've had a ton of fun chasing those events and the Indy 500 the last couple years. The vast majority of LM races lack that big event atmosphere these days. I used to attend upwards of a dozen Summer Nationals races per year, and this year I might hit one. The next dirt race I'm honestly looking forward to is Silver Crown at Terre Haute on July 4th. I'm not even that excited for PDC, which a couple years ago would've been unthinkable for me. LM racing is stagnating quickly.
Opinions are my own. Twitter.com/ShinySideUp18

Sadly, I'm joining ranks with many on this thread. Got all excited to watch the Dream and what did we see, 100 laps led by one driver. Seems like every dirt late model race I attend there is little passing. Every race won off the front row. The oversize front ends, twisted bodies and dreaded aero is driving me away. Should have gone to the Kokomo XR race instead of the Dream. Here in the Indy area at least we can see USAC races that invert the top 6 in each race. You gotta race your way in. Sad times for dirt late model racing.

I've found myself starting out watching the late models and ending up watching the sprint cars. Until fans stop showing up I highly doubt anything will change unless the drivers start saying something needs to be done. It's pretty sad that the race is won at the beginning of the night during Qualifying. Could you imagine fans getting up after qualifying leaving and saying that was a good race.

I think with dirt late model racing going year round except for time off in December people are getting burned out on it. And the bodies being as jacked up as they are now aren't helping any either.

I think next time JD sets quick time , everyone should get up, head out to the vendors area , buy a JD shirt, then exit stage left. No hot dog, no beer. Might just work.

Sorry, I can't prove you wrong Dirty!

Don't count on it ever being fixed, the same people sponsoring theses series and tracks are the problem, its no secret guys like Landers and Wells spend millions a year on high dollar engineers and its paying off!! These purses are so top heavy the people at the top won't change!

You misspelled Ferrari and Red Bull.

Was thinking the same thing. Dirt LM racing is pretty much like F1. All you need to watch is qualifying.

It would at least get their attention.

The sad part is, I looked at the heat lineups. Saw JD in heat 6, knew he’d win and start front row and win and I still went.
-
I knew it too and said so about JD. Here is the thing, Eldora actually has a good format if you look at it. What happened with JD was just getting lucky to land in the sixth heat with cars easy to beat. Florence has taken on a similar format which I like too.
I do not like the way Lucas does their usual format. There should be a pill draw for the first eight drivers who qualify through the heats.
As far as what I watch, I have not changed. Sprints, LM, and Nascar. All of it. I do not have to choose one over the other because I watch it all delayed.
